Today was a great day…
Today was an absolute great day for me :)
Why?
Well have you ever just sat around and observed the world around you and notice how a lot of people know what they want to do in life. Whether it’s a result of their talent or passion for it. And then you think about yourself and feel like you have no talent or passion for what you want to do in life, therefore there really is no motivation to strive for anything.
That has been me up until today.
Today I was blessed to experience a tiny ounce of what lies ahead for me. My whole entire HS and College time, I’ve spent watching others around me, so sure about what they want to do. Today I finally got my moment of strive and passion. I realized that I want to work with children and teenagers in their struggle to cope and go through life. There are so many kids and teens out there that struggle in life, due to a loss or traumatic change in life, and now one is there to listen to them or guide them through their hard times. I felt such a relief and determination to pursue this opportunity. I just finished getting back from a training session for a summer camp dedicated to children and teens who are grieving. I was truly moved by the people who are already involved in the program, and to see how caring and determined they are to just listen to these kids in their time of need and help understand that its ok to just have fun and live life, even with the circumstances surrounding them.
Anyways the moral of this post is that even though it has taken me such a long time to finally choose something that I want to do…I never gave up. I kept searching for my purpose in life, and for the first time I feel like I have found it.
You don’t have to be a talented musician, cook, writer, etc… as long as you know you have a smile on and feel accomplished, after a long day at work, than you know you are doing the thing that you are meant to do in life.
So I applaud you if you have found your purpose and you’re passionate about it,
and if you haven’t, then don’t worry you will get there, just be patient and keep your eyes open :)
I just want to leave you off with one of my favorite quotes ever,
“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.” - E.E. Cummings
Don’t forget to enjoy the ride and laugh ever now and then, its truly the best medicine in life.
Till next time,
